Building a Tiny House

In the summer of 2010, I rode my bike 4500 miles from Virginia Beach to Portland, Oregon, flew to Scotland with my uncle and grandmother, then returned to Vermont and tried to figure out what to do next.  That decision, to convert a small tool shed into a tiny cabin in the woods, has led to a continued life of wild wacky adventures in the “big huge house.”  I moved back in with my parents but they were in the process of building themselves a smaller (though not THIS small) house and putting the house I grew up in on the market.  I knew I didn’t want to join them in living in their new house, so I had one year to get myself together.  I didn’t want to have to pay rent – so I took over their tool-shed up on the land where they were building their house.
